George and Ringo were excited by Brian Wilson's radically-different
and brilliant Beach Boys album, "Pet Sounds," and the single, "Good
Vibrations." And they had already begun to experiment with eastern
mysticism and with mind-enhancing drugs. Sgt.Pepper became one of
the more joyful orchestrations of The Summer of Love....
